Series III: Correspondence and Memoranda to Staff, 1966-1979

Scope and Contents

CORRESPONDENCE subseries includes letters from people outside the Foundation: members of Congress, former grantees, job seekers, and other individuals with an interest in the Ford Foundation. Some of these letters are accompanied by Bundy's response. This subseries also includes a small amount of misfiled correspondence from Foundation staff members. Typical of this subseries is a letter from Professor Nelson W. Polsky ruminating on topics covered in the Foundation-sponsored seminar on American values (this seminar is documented in SERIES II). The subseries MEMORANDA TO STAFF consists of Bundy's announcements to Foundation staff. There are also a few announcements addressed to the Foundation's executive officers interfiled here. This subseries provides a sketchy chronology of many Foundation activities and events.
