Use of the card index to the Rockefeller University collections ---
There are three elements that compose each card.
At the top of each card appears as personal or institutional name or subject.
Below the name or subject appears a description of the material indexed. A given entry may describe a collection, a file,
or one or more items.
At the left side of the card appear filing information. For example, 190 (1) signifies the formerly classified record group
190, Box 1. (1) 14 signifies Box 1, Folder 14.
The cards bear Record Group numbers, such as 450 H735. The use of these numbers and their associated classification system
have been discontinued by RAC.
Please see the "Other Finding Aids" note placed in the Access and Use Information at the top level of this finding aid. Within
this "Other Finding Aids" note you will find a listing of all Rockefeller University holdings along with the current Finding
Aid Number (FA#), correlated former classification number, and hyperlinks which facilitate access to all ther finding aids
that are currently open for research. The former classification number is also provided in the "File Plan" note of each individual
The Finding Aid number (FA#), and associated finding aid hyperlinks, can be used to locate material through the RAC DIMES
website and request records and papers.
These digital collections are presented for purposes of education and research. We
have described the current copyright status to the best of our knowledge. Upon request
from potential rights owners, we will remove material from public view while we
address any outstanding rights issues.
